'59 Olds emergency brake pedal

The emergency brake pedal has a handy warning lamp. To release, the driver depresses the OFF side pedal. You can see the close proximity of OFF to the painted cardboard kick panel. It's almost impossible for the driver not to rub his shoe against the kick panel when releasing the emergency brake. I'm surprised the kick panel isn't scuffed on my car.
