EV 1 assembly plant - Lansing, Michigan |
Historic GM Building and Fisher Building - Detroit, Michigan |
This is the shortest driving day of my trip. I completed the eastbound 73 mile drive on Interstate 96 from Lansing to within a few short miles of my final destination. I'll be relaxing for a couple of days here in Farmington Hills. I've got a lot of road grime to clean off of my EV1 prior to tomorrow afternoon's closing ceremony, 3 weeks to the day that my adventure kicked-off at the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. This evening I drove to nearby Detroit to photograph my EV1 near two of my favorite buildings in the area, the General Motors Building and the Fisher Building. Both are art deco masterpieces designed by famed architect Alfred Kahn and built in the 1930's. GM recently announced a move from this building to the Renaissance Center in Downtown Detroit.
